China's position on the war in Ukraine: A critical and personal perspective
China’s position on the war in Ukraine has been ambivalent. On the one hand, it has blamed NATO enlargement, which Russia has stated as a reason for starting the war. On the other hand, it has stressed respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity. China has also abstained in United Nations votes on the war in Ukraine.
As a Chinese citizen, I am deeply troubled by my country’s position on this conflict. I believe that China should unequivocally condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
